depp_darkshadows_072909aIt’s still a go, according to Tim Burton at ComicCon.

Burton confirmed this last Thursday when he presented footage from “Alice in Wonderland” to a capacity crowd at Comic-Con’s cavernous Hall H. He said “Dark Shadows” would be his next project, “if I ever finish this one here.”

Sadly, it could be awhile before we see it, 2010, or even later. Depp is doing  a fourth installment in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise first, which is due out in 2010.

Be sure to check out the teaser trailer for “Alice in Wonderland” while you’re there, it looks amazing.

  1. I can’t wait to see who they cast as Julia, Angelique, Victoria, Roger… Also, considering matriach Elizabeth Collins was played by veteran actress Joan Bennett who’d been mostly out of work for over a decade when she landed the part, it would be really cool if Burton hired an older, really respected actress that we haven’t seen in a while.

  2. That would be good. There’s certainly no lack of older, talented actresses who don’t get much work. It seems like you have to be under 25 in Hollywood to get parts if you’re female. Frankly, I hope most of the cast are lesser known, as was done with the Star Trek reboot. I wonder how close they will stay to the original storyline and characters.
