NaNo is upon us!
Which means I probably won’t be blogging much for the next 30 days. Whatever free time I have will be going towards word count. Anyone for a word war? 🙂

With mere hours to go to the official start of NaNoWriMo as I write this, I have to admit, setting aside my WIP for a month feels a little like taking separate vacations from a loved one. I know what I’m going to be doing will be thrilling and good for me, but at the same time the idea of being away from those characters for a month stops my heart a little. Farewell, my darlings, I’ll see you soon. MWAH!
I’ve also decided to participate in the NaNo Project, a local collective blog where writers from the Portland, OR area contribute their experiences in NaNoWriMo. I’ve got one post up (“I Don’t Wanna Stop“), and as obsessive as I am about blogging I’m sure I’ll do at least one more for them.

Good luck! And same here. I intend on spending most of my free time this November writing! 🙂

Good luck to you both Jenna and DD! I’m up for the word war ~ don’t hold back even though I’m a newbie. I’m up to 1565 today –I feel like i’m on tightrope w/o a net — scary and exhilarating at the same time.

YEEEEEHAAAaaaaa! You go, girl! What an awesome start. I’m at 559 right now. I’m heading for a write-in this afternoon so I’ll be probably offline from 1:00 – 6:00 or so (PST). We can try a word war before then, and believe me, I won’t hold back! I have some catching up to do 😉

Thanks for dropping by my blog. I’ve been following yours all this time, even if I don’t comment as much as I’d like.
I’m participating this year as well, and hoping to surpass last years word count, by the double if possible, but not really counting on it, unless I get my most desired laptop on time (still waiting).
Good luck for you, and don’t worry, when you come back, you’re beloved current project will still be there, and hopefully, you’ll even have some great new ideas for it. I sure am hoping that happens with the one I’m revising (currently on hiatus for NaNo).

Hi Ana,
Wow, that’s an impressive goal! I finally cracked and bought a laptop back in September in anticipation of doing NaNo again. I love the thing, now I can go anywhere and write, I’m not tied to the desk. Hope yours arrives quickly. Good luck!

I didn’t realize you’d taken the plunge and gotten a laptop, Didge – isn’t it swell? what kind did you get?

Oh yeah, I don’t think I mentioned it before! Yes, it’s become an appendage, I LURVE it. I went with a Sony VAIO again, in silver. It totally rocks, and this WiFi stuff everyone’s been talking about… oh my, I can see spending a lot of time in cafes taking advantage of free WiFi 😉
