And I finished the first book so you can’t pull the rug out from under me now! HAHA! But for those who have not read them, I won’t be allowing any spoilery comments. Martin is doing the same thing on his blog, no spoilers allowed. There’s so much in the story, so many unexpected twists, and talk about your cliff-hanger ending. Seriously, who saw that coming? I sure hope HBO will be tackling the rest of the books. I have to get busy and read the last three now. At least now I won’t feel left out that I can’t see it on tv due to lack of cable. Unless of course the show deviates from the books, which I seriously doubt. I think GRRM’s rabid fans would storm the HBO studios with pitchforks and torches if they tried it.

Yeah! I really did think you’d like it. I won’t spoil you at all. I’ll just say my favorite novels in the series thus far are the first and the third. Do you have any favorite characters? Not necessarily ones you’d like if they were real people, but ones you are interested in most to see what happens to them?

I can’t believe how fast I read that book, all 800+ pages! I’m really dying to find out what happens to Jon Snow, and the whole Stark clan. I’d like to see Tyrion rise above his evil family, and of course I can hardly wait to see what happens with Dany! 🙂 I don’t have the rest of the books yet, I just started Jack Vance’s “Tales of a Dying Earth”. It took me a few pages to get into it, my head is still in Westeros 😉 but now I’m really enjoying it. It’s nothing like I thought it would be: magicians and spells and incredibly imaginative. As soon as I’m done with this I’m heading straight to A Clash of Kings!

P.S. I also was very intrigued about Dany from the start. She has one of my favorite storylines. And Tyrion is a very fascinating character.

Tales of the Dying Earth is like poetry, overtones of Shakespeare and the Bible, high fantasy. It’s wonderful.
