The Bluest Sky

(with apologies to Toni Morrison)

Winter here is like the long dark of Moria, and we don’t have Gandalf to lead us through it. Seeing sun and blue sky after all the rains lately is cause for celebration. Have courage, wherever you are. The sun is still there, I’ve seen it!

A Prayer in Spring

Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers to-day;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year.

Oh, give us pleasure in the orchard white,
Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;
And make us happy in the happy bees,
The swarm dilating round the perfect trees.

And make us happy in the darting bird
That suddenly above the bees is heard,
The meteor that thrusts in with needle bill,
And off a blossom in mid air stands still.

For this is love and nothing else is love,
The which it is reserved for God above
To sanctify to what far ends He will,
But which it only needs that we fulfil.

Author:

Writer of vampire stories and science fiction. First novel, "Revenants Abroad", available now at Amazon. If you like a vampire you can go out drinking with and still respect yourself in the morning, I think you'd like Andrej.

And when a person mention they lived in Oregon you should see my face light up and looking forward to exchange stories, lol. As it is lighting up now just writing you this:))))

    1. The one in the street view on the left with the small flowers is a cherry tree, the one pictured by itself under the pic of the daffodils is a magnolia. (and it’s “crepe myrtle” πŸ˜‰ )

  3. You are giving me hope that brighter days are just ahead. It has been a real slog of a winter.

  4. Hi! Things are really good over here. Thanks for asking. πŸ™‚ My last blog post was last Sunday. I missed this week but am trying to start blogging regularly again. I have so much I want to post about, but after working on my manu it’s hard for me to find the juice. Must find a little more balance in that regard.

    1. Oh, I must have checked the old blog, I didn’t see any new posts. I need to update my links and subscriptions. Sorry! My own blog doesn’t get out much theses days, which makes me sad. I used to so look forward to blogging.
